Motegi Racing Wheels – Rims That Can Keep Up

Posted by adam  Published in Main Content

In today’s world of customized, or tuned, cars, a consumer has a lot of choices when it comes to wheels and rims. Some can be highly stylized while others are purely built for nothing more than weight savings and speed. A company that gives us both is run by the folks at Motegi Racing Wheels and Motegi Racing Rims. With a wide variety of styles, colors, sizes and specific purposes, these wheels and rims are built with the demanding customer in mind.

Variety of Wheel Sizes. Motegi racing wheels and Motegi racing rims can range in size from 15 inches in diameter all the way to greater than 20. This can give you precise handling and a seriously good-looking vehicle with little or no real effort involved.

Wheels versus Rims. There are slight differences between traditional wheels and what are known as rims. They mainly revolve around how they’re specifically manufactured into the shapes they assume, but all-in-all, they’re very minor. In rims, the so-called wheel spokes may sit almost flush with the wheel flange. Generally, the flange is also called a wheel’s lip, or the area where the tire mounts up flush to the back of the flange.

Wheel Metals. Wheels can be made of many different metal types and alloys. In the old days, almost every wheel that went onto a standard kind of car was made of steel. Steel doesn’t rust, and it can take a lot of abuse. It can even be bent back into shape somewhat if it happens to become dented. The disadvantage is that they can be heavier than racing wheels or rims made of lighter alloys.

Wheel Alloys. Wheels or rims can also be made of different types of alloys. Most of the time, the common wheel alloy is high-grade aluminum. The wheel or rim was lighter, which helped save on rotating weight. The downside is that they were also a bit more delicate. And once they broke, it was impossible to repair them.

Wheel and Rim Bolt Patterns. Most wheels and rims, except for certain open and closed-wheel motor sport racing types, are bolted to the vehicle in a specific pattern. This depends upon the kind of wheel and the purpose it will serve. Some have as few a four bolts, while others may have several more than that. A clean-looking racing wheel or rim will have no more than five bolts set into a pattern.

Specialty Wheels and Rims. Motegi racing wheels and Motegi racing rims are made with the needs of the serious street performance enthusiast in mind. Some are smooth and uncomplicated-looking and built with light weight and speed in mind. Others are chrome-plated, larger in diameter, and just a bit heavier. These wheels look good on a car that’s meant to be a rolling piece of artwork more than as a pure speed demon. But even these units deliver uncompromising quality and performance.

Summary. Motegi Racing Wheels and Motegi Racing Rims have been setting the standard in high-performance and high-appearance wheels for a long time. They combine alloys and chromes into a wheel package sure to meet the needs of just about every automobile lover. For more information visit http://www.hubcap-tire-wheel.com.
