Danica Patrick, the award winning Rookie of the Year 2005 has once again grabbed the limelight as she is going to appear in the Nationwide Race this weekend. She and her team have made a visit to Stewart-Haas Racing members and it is assumed that they have closed a deal among themselves. Patrick will run in Trucks and ARCA cars and it is assumed that she will make more than five appearances in the session.
Patrick is going to start with the famous Daytona Racing event that is going to happen in February in the year 2010. Her amazing performance during the Indy Car racing season has made an impact on the selectors and she is going to be the first women to appear in a major NASCAR racing event.
Danica recently made a press statement, which stated that she knows what she up is up against. She asked her critics and male supporters of the game that they be ready for the show as she is going to make an impact in the race. She also agreed that things will not be easy and she would have to work hard to stay in the league of top racers.
However, Patrick’s interest in NASCAR is more than a long-suspected bargaining chip with Andretti Green. The 2009 season proved a great year for her as she finished the season at the fifth position overall in the point standings, which happens to be her highest finish to date. It was assumed that Future American F1 team Team US F1 has allegedly considered testing Patrick for 2010 but Stewart-Haas Racing were termed as the final front-runners of the game as they have allegedly closed a deal with Danica.
Her move is also considered a good thing to promote the sport among female racers and make it more popular among women. She is arguably the best female American racer and her appearance in the Daytona Nationwide Race will definitely make an impact. However, Danica stated that she has set high standards for herself and the expectations of people have made her work even harder to perform well in the season race, which happens to be the biggest racing event of her life.
The racing season is just round the corner and Danica and her fans have crossed their fingers to make it the biggest female debut race in the racing history.
