Armando Codina Selected By Doral City Council To Design New City Hall

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – (May, 2010) – CM Doral Development Company, associated with Codina Partners, a Coral Gables-based real estate firm led by industry veteran and business leader Armando Codina, was recently selected by the Doral City Council with a 5-0 vote to design and build a new three-story, 60,000 square-foot Doral City Hall.

“Codina Partners is honored to have CM Doral selected as the developer of choice for the new Doral City Hall,” said Armando Codina, Chief Executive Officer of Codina Partners. “We are committed to the City of Doral through our work in other landmark projects in the area and look forward to starting our work on the Doral City Hall.”

The $21 million Doral City Hall project will be LEED Silver certified and will be built on a 1.8-acre site in the vicinity of Northwest 53rd Terrace and 84th Avenue. It will offer 250 parking spaces. The current 30,000 square-foot Doral City Hall is not owned by the City.

“This City Hall will be a state-of-the art building that will meet the needs of our growing community,” said City of Doral Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “We can’t wait to start.”

According to the City of Doral’s public information coordinator Helen Poleo, CM Doral met the necessary guidelines for the development of the property in a request for proposal issued by the city after an extensive feasibility study.

As part of various real estate ventures, Codina has developed more than seven million square feet of properties in the City of Doral in the past 20 years, including the Beacon Center, a high-end commercial industrial park north of Miami International Mall. He is also involved in developing Downtown Doral, a 120- acre mixed-use project located on both sides of Northwest 53rd Street between Northwest 87th Avenue and Northwest 79th Avenue.
