Nationwide Series Recap: New Hampshire Speedway
This weekend’s Nationwide Series race at New Hampshire Speedway was a continuation of the Joe Gibbs Show we’ve seen all season. Specifically, it was the No. 20 Toyota with Dave Rogers as crew chief and, in this case, Tony Stewart in
the driver’s seat. The Camping World RV Sales 200 was the fifth win of the year for Stewart and the eighth for the Joe Gibbs No. 20 team. Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano and Kyle Busch have all added a victory apiece to the tab. Hamlin, in the No. 32 Toyota, and Busch, in the No. 18 Toyota, both chased Stewart to the finish. The race ended under caution after Greg Biffle crashed on the final lap, with Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards following the Joe Gibbs’ Toyotas.
The Braun Racing No. 32, driven by Hamlin, and No. 38, driven by Jason Leffler, Toyotas were painted black with no decals as a symbol of mourning for the owner’s mother, Linda Braun, who died unexpectedly on Wednesday.
Clint Bowyer, the Nationwide Series point leader, finished in ninth place and will continue to top the point standings. Stewart gained four positions (24th place) and Hamlin gained three (21st place).
